Mike Tyson's Daughter Dies After Tragic Hanging Accident

As yet another tragic episode in boxer Mike Tyson's life, his four year old daughter was reported to have died today at 11:45am at a hospital in Phoenix, AZ. Exodus Tyson was reportedly found by the Tyson's 7 year old boy with her neck strangled by the power cord of a treadmill at the Tyson house, according to Phoenix police. The four year old was rushed to the hospital after her mother tried to revive her to no avail. She was pronounced dead today, just before noon, according to Police Sgt. Andy Hill.

The Tyson family has asked for privacy and healing after releasing the following statement:

There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus. We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.

Amy Mickelson Diagnosed With Breast Cancer

Phil Mickelson's wife, Amy, was diagnosed today with breast cancer at age 37, prompting Phil to pull out of the PGA Tour and suspend the rest of the season's play. Mickelson, the number 2 ranked golfer in the world, also pulled out of the upcoming HP Byron Nelson Championship Golf Tournament.

Tests for Amy will begin this week, and major surgery is anticipated within the next two weeks. Treatment will begin near their home at Rancho Santa Fe, California.

Tim Finchem, the commissioner of the PGA Tour stated: “We are saddened by the news of Amy Mickelson’s diagnosis, but are hopeful that with the support of Phil and her family and friends, she will come through this difficult time. The thoughts and prayers of everyone connected with the PGA Tour are with the Mickelson family.”

Tony Kornheiser Out of Monday Night Football

The surprising announcement made this morning by ESPN announced that Jon Gruden, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders coach, will be replacing Tony Kornheiser on ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast.

Kornheiser spend three seasons with MNF broadcast. Through ESPN's PR department, Kornheiser is quoted as saying:

"I am totally grateful for the MNF opportunity that I truly enjoyed the last three seasons. I feel we got better each year. My fear of planes is legendary and sadly true. When I looked at the upcoming schedule it was the perfect storm that would've frequently moved me from the bus to the air. I kept looking at the schedule the past month and wanted to find a way to quietly extricate myself. If I could handpick a replacement of a football guy, I would cast a net and drag in Jon Gruden. He is the two things you most want -- smart and funny -- and has the two things I don't -- good hair and a tan. I love PTI and am looking forward to continuing to yammer and yodel with Wilbon until the end of time."

Gruden will be broadcasting with Mike Tirico and Ron Jaworski, both of whom will be staying on the cast.

Preakness Stakes 2009 - Long Shot for Mine That Bird

Bodog.com's Preakness Stakes 2009 has the winner of the Kentucky Derby, Mine that Bird, listed at 11 to 2 odds. Things get even worse for Mine That Bird and his trainer Chip Woolley, Jr. The jockey that drove the horse to the victory line at the Kentucky Derby, Calvin Borel, will be riding a different horse. Prior to the the Kentucky Derby, Borel was under contract to ride Rachel Alexandra and regardless of winning the Derby with Mine That Bird, is honoring his commitment.

Replacing Borel will be veteran rider Mide Smith. Smith has one the 2005 Kentucky Derby.

Mom Demands Do-Over for Yearbook

A Florida mother is demanding that her daughter's high school recall and reprint its yearbook because the teen, a junior, may have inadvertently exposed herself in a club photo.
The yearbooks came out Monday, and talk of the photo took the school by storm, according to a report by WTSP-TV in Tampa Bay, Fla.
"It's ridiculously embarrassing," said the girl, who wasn't named in the news report. She explained that she didn't wear panties the day the photo was taken because she didn't want her panty lines to show.
The teenager hasn't been back to school since the yearbooks were issued. Her mother wants them destroyed. "I don't want any yearbooks out there with this photo in it -- because it's going to follow her," she said.
But the school doesn't believe it has to reprint the books. "We don't believe there's an exposure in the yearbook. It's a shadow," school spokeswoman Linda Cobbe told WTSP.

Wayman Tisdale, Sooner Legend, Dies at 44

The Oklahoma Sooner legend dies this morning at the young age of 44. Wayman Tisdale had been battling bone cancer and succombed this morning at approximately 8:00AM. Tisdale was a 3 time All-American basketball player for the Oklahoma Sooners, then went on to play in the NBA for the Indiana Pacers, Sacremento Kinds, and the Phoenix Suns.

As great as his basketball career had been, his first love was always his music. He delved into learning how to play the base guitar and became an accomplished artist with several jazz albums released.

Tisdale will be remember as a great role-model, humble to a fault, and a great human being. Rest in Peace Wayman.

Chrysler Dealership Closing - The Complete List!

In a motion filed Thursday in the auto-maker's bankruptcy filing, Chrysler announced yesterday that it was closing a quarter of its national dealerships. Only half of it's total dealers make up over 90% of Chrysler's sales, so according to Chrysler, the move makes makes sense for streamlining and cost cutting. Chrysler Announcing Dealership Closings

Today Chrysler announced it's closing 789 of it's total of 3,200 dealerships. This move, expected to be effective early next month, is due to antiquated dealership networks and too many stores nationwide.

The dealers were notified this morning via UPS mail whether they were selected to close, or remain open. Dealers can appeal the decision, but Chrysler would like to eliminate these 789 dealerships by June 9th.

This could have devastating effects in cities and towns across the country. Many dealerships are what drives jobs and small town economies. This is yet another long lasting effect of the current economic crises that is effecting the nation.

NTSB Hearings Begin

The National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) hearing began today which will be investigating Continental Connection Flight 3407, operated by Colgan Air, that crashed near Buffalo, N.Y., killing 50 people. It appears that the NTSB will be focusing on the training, Captain Marvin Renslow received from Colgan Air, which is a regional airline based in Manassas, VA.

The NTSB is also scrutinizing the voice recording transcripts of the flight. The pilots had apparently violated the sterile cockpit rule, which prohibits the use of the crew room to sleep overnight. Additionally, according to the transcripts, the crew were having non-essential conversations below 10,000 ft, which is in violation of FAA rules.
